Merry Christmas, Dunderheads

I have been collecting nutcrackers for several years now. I have quite an assortment, but what was missing from my collection? Any type of HARRY POTTER nutcrackers. Turns out, most people probably are missing HP NCs. Perhaps when the books or movies first came out there was more Christmas tie-in merch, but now, not so much.

I found an Etsy seller who had made a Harry Potter nutcracker, but what I was of course longing for was a Snape. I sent an inquiry to see if the seller would make a special order, but I never got a reply. So, I took matters into my own, non-crafty, inept hands.

July 12, 2013—Day 7

Today’s plan had been to relax by the pool and see a show in the evening. HOWEVER, since our Santa Fe horseback riding adventure was cancelled, we were doing a make up ride this morning at 6:30 am. What the what??

Cowboy Trail Rides picked us up right on time for our Canyon Rim Ride. There were only four of us on the ride, plus our wrangler, Mikey. Yes, an adult who called himself Mikey. He was a good guy, though. My niece had the awesomely named horse, Diesel. I want to buy a horse just so I can name him Diesel. I was put on a mule named Mulla. Come on! I had Greg the horse at the Kentucky Horse Park in April, and now Mulla? (I loved Mulla, but this was the best name they could come up with?)

I think a mule was a brilliant choice for this ride. Mikey was on a mule, too.

Henry Ford, Harry Potter, and Ash Inhalation

Life has gotten busy, and I haven’t had the chance to write up a trip I took with my niece and nephew in July 2011. So, why not do it now?

Our trek took us to Michigan and the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. This was the weekend Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II opened, so I had the foresight to buy tickets for Saturday night at the IMAX there. Woot!

Upon entering the museum to pick up our movie tickets and buy tickets to the museum and village, we were treated to quite the HP cardboard cutout display. The niece and I had goosebumps.

My love for the Snapester knows no bounds!
